Youth Activities

The Youth Programs Department of Habitat for Humanity was founded with the mission to capture the imagination, energy and hope of young people worldwide, ages five to 25, in order to productively and responsibly involve them as leaders in the work of Habitat.

Contact Alison Willey, Youth Programs Coordinator, to find out how you can participate!

Examples of Youth Volunteer Activities:
16 and Under : Painting, site clean-up, landscaping, hospitality, office volunteer
16-18 : Basic construction (no power tools), shed construction, siding, insulating
18 and Up : All construction (including power tool use.)

*Youth under the age of 16 are not allowed on an active construction work site. However, individuals are useful volunteers in landscaping, painting, and site clean-up settings (away from power tools.) Youth ages 16 and 17 can do simple construction not involving the use of power tools. Ages 18 and older can do all construction work following safe practices. For groups, one adult must be present to supervise for every five youth.*
