Walt Jones Memorial Project (WJMP)

Who was Walt Jones?

Walt Jones was the owner and operator of both the Old Landing Golf Course until 1979 and the Midway Par 3 course prior to his passing in 2010.  Walt was a legend and inspiration to all those in the area who follow the sport of golf. He generously donated use of the Midway Par 3 golf course for Habitat’s Annual Golf Outing since its' inception. His family graciously continues his legacy of giving to this day.

What is the Walt Jones Memorial Project (WJMP)?

Walt’s grandson, Shaun Jones, founded the event in 2005. Shaun single handedly organized the first 3 golf outings and pre-tournament mixers and mini-auctions.  Building on his success, these events have evolved into the Walt Jones Memorial Project, a year long series of community fundraising efforts, organized and supported by a group of dedicated committee members. These events benefiting Habitat now include an annual golf clinic, wine tasting, auction, and golf outing.
