president's volunteer service award
Sussex County Habitat for Humanity is proud to be a certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award, established in 2003 to recognize the important role volunteers play in strengthening America. This award honors individuals, families, and groups who have made a commitment to positively impact communities on a regular, unpaid basis.
Eligibility Requirements
All U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents above the age of five who use our registration platform VolunteerHub are on the path to eligibility. Recipients must complete eligible service within a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Awards).
Award level criteria is shared below:

Kids (5-10 years old) | 26-49 hours | 50-47 hours | 75+ hours | 4,000+ hours |
Teens (11-15) | 50-74 hours | 75-99 hours | 100+ hours | 4,000+ hours |
Young Adults (16-25) | 100-174 hours | 175-249 hours | 250+ hours | 4,000+ hours |
Adults (26+) | 100-249 hours | 250-499 hours | 500+ hours | 4,000+ hours |
How to Apply
Use VolunteerHub to track or review your hours over the last 12 months. If your service falls within one of the award levels above, email volunteer@sussexcountyhabitat.org with your name and qualifying level. We will confirm and certify your service hours.
